The WA Deaf Society is a non-profit organisation established in 1921 to provide services to Deaf and hard of hearing people in Western Australia. Our core business consists of three services: Sign Language Communications WA (interpreting service), DEAFinite Employment Service and Community Services (information, referral and support service). We also have other departmental staff working in fundraising and marketing, and administrative staff that are responsible for the efficient daily operations of the WA Deaf Society.
Through Community Services we provide information, counselling, additional needs support, aged care support and assist clients access a range of external community agencies and organisations for further services. We also provide training courses for Australian Sign Language (Auslan) and we have highly qualified professional staff who provide Auslan interpreting.
